The influences of community involvement
come from both my family and Vicki's, and I have tried to carry on that
tradition, and make it an example for my own children.
My father was manager of Continental
Telephone in Apalachin when we moved to New York State, and he was also
involved with Owego Rotary and was a Vice-President of the Tioga Chamber
My service club affiliation is the
Apalachin Lions Club where I recently served as president.
Earlier, I was a member of the Endwell
Fire Department, and was a past member of the Catholic School Board of
I volunteer in many local activities,
such as the Apalachin Library's Annual Book Sale & Ice Cream Social,
and have sponsored eight annual Red Cross Blood Drives in Owego. I was
recognized by the American Red Cross for Leadership in Recruiting Blood
For 12 years, I have been a member
of the Tioga County Republican Committee and now serve as First Vice-Chairman.
Many of you may have met me in the course of my carrying petitions or putting
up signs for party candidates.

Being out in the community on various
activities has given me a good window on the interests and needs of the
people of our town. Having lived in two very different cultures - city
life and more rural life - it helps me to recognize and deal with issues
that are beginning to surface here in our community. Many of those issues
I have already experienced, and I think that helps give me insights into
needed future town decisions. In spite of our relatively rural lives here
in the Town of Owego, many issues of a non-rural nature are already arising,
to be discussed and dealt with.
